Dr. Marcello Iriti is a full Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Milan State University. He has been studying food security and sustainable food systems, as well as the effects of environmental pollutants, biotic/abiotic stresses and climate changes on plant health. Furthermore, he has been studying bioactive phytochemicals relevant to human nutrition and health, focusing on their functional role in planta, as well as their biological activities in vitro/in vivo and in human. He has been investigating the effects of elicitors on plant secondary metabolism, as an approach to obtain phytochemical-enriched plant foods and medicinal herbs.
Professor Iriti is an author of more than 300 publications with IF (Scopus h-index: 58).
He has ranked of the top 2% Scientists in the 2021 and 2022 list of outstanding researchers by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA.(https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/4).
